burst fracture of L1
I did today the monitoring visits to a patient that I operated about two years ago of a burst fracture of the body of L1.
The fracture was particularly serious as it affects the back wall with a setback of several fragments of bone and compression of neurological structures (bone).
The timely reduction surgery and stabilization of vertebral fracture has led to a rapid functional recovery with immediate release of the neurological structures.
The patient is doing very well and has resumed all its sporting activities and work.
