Severe thoracic kyphosis in esti fracture
I recently discharged a patient that I operated for a severe kyphotic deformity of the thoracic spine as a result of multiple vertebral fractures by accident.
The surgery was necessary due to the aggravation of post-traumatic deformities and back pain experienced by the patient.
The surgical correction of kyphosis is the placement of spinal instrumentation to correct the deformity in the sagittal plane only after multiple vertebral osteotomies at the apex of kyphosis.
In this case, I performed three osteotomies that were enough to obtain an optimal alignment of the spine the sagittal plane.
Clearly, in addition to the instrumentation with pedicle screws I run through a careful spondilodesi cruentazione and application of homologous bone.
The end result, even clinical, it is very beautiful and the patient is very happy with the result.
