Carnival!
Carnival has always been the children's festival, but also affects adults. Indeed, one could say that is a great way for children to return, happy and carefree, taking advantage of these days to justify the fun and antics that reach maximum levels in the closing weeks of the Carnival.
The origins of the festivals are religious, in fact, Carnival is directly related to Easter, which always falls the Sunday after first full moon (full moon) in the spring. Since Easter
escape 6 weeks (including 5 of Lent) and the previous week to them is one in which we celebrate Carnival.
This word probably derives from medieval Latin "carnem lift", ie remove the flesh from the diet, in compliance with the ban on Catholics to eat meat during Lent.
protagonists of Carnival Masks have always been the most popular classic. It seems that the oldest among them is Harlequin, a native of Bergamo. In the sixteenth century was the mask from Venice and Naples Pulcinella Pantalone, followed by Dr. Balanzone of Bologna.
The other famous characters of the Italian Carnival come from Turin (Gianduja), Florence (Stenterello), even from Bergamo (Brighella) and Venice's most famous female character that is Columbine.
In many countries around the world, Carnival is a celebration that is experienced tirelessly.
